The current President and CEO, Oscar Bazoberry founded World Data in 1980 as a software development house.
The original focus of the company was on providing customized software and database applications
to enterprises to address their operational requirements.
Building upon the success of a number of database projects for clients such as the United Nations,
World Bank and Inter-American Development Bank, the company expanded its portfolio of services in
1986 to include WAN/LAN implementation and desktop publishing. With the introduction of Networking Technologies,
World Data began to expand its strategy to assist telecommunications companies as well.
It was in the early 1990's when World Data began to work closely with telecommunications companies (Telecom)
and performed a variety of projects involving strategy development, systems integration, and network development
work with companies like Sprint, Teleglobe, Global One, and smaller regional PTT's such as Antelco and Hondutel.
By 1992, World Data was considered by many of its Telecom clients as a network solutions company.
To capitalize on growing opportunities the company reorganized into three divisions: Network Engineering and Support,
Business Modeling and Consulting Services, and Software Applications. An international client base emerged at that time
and World Data completed several technical support projects in the Central and South America regions.
In 1994 World Data targeted the Internet as the main source of future growth and leveraged its experience and
relationships with the large Telecom market to acquire projects in that area.
Over the last 10 years World Data has been helping its client base to develop Internet/Intranet/Extranet strategies,
and migrate IT and communications processes to the Internet. The company has developed unique hands-on experience in
implementing network platforms and OSS / NMS (Operational Support Systems) / (Network Management Systems)
software applications leveraging the TCP/IP protocol for large multinational telecommunications companies.
With the deterioration of the telecommunication market, World Data created
World Data Consortium (since renamed Comsat International Holdings, LLC) to acquire and consolidated distressed carriers.
Our first acquisition, Comsat International, had a formidable network that covered the Americas either
via fiber or satellite. With this network, we offered data, voice and vertical solutions to multinationals across the Americas.
Since 2005 we have divested from Comsat International and focused in developing Software as a Service and Transaction Network solutions for our clients.
